About Bapuji's Birth Centenary Year
Shri Swami Vivekanand Shikshan Sanstha, Kolhapur (M.S) is one of the
leading educational institutions, imparting quality education across diverse
verticals for over six decades with the motto “Education for Knowledge, Science
& Culture”, given by the founder Dr. Bapuji Salunkhe.
Education is the parameter that separates a man from the beast.
Education uplifts the standards, promotes co-operation and maintains harmony in
the society. The cognizance it instills makes every individual an intellectual
citizen of the nation. According to aforesaid maxim in order to meet and
overcome most of the challenges in the present education system in Maharashtra;
Sanstha strives hard to impart knowledge to all parts of society and make it
healthy and Wholesome. “We, the members in all Sanskar Kendras celebrate Dr.
Bapuji Salunkhe’s birthday every year on 9th June by taking of our achievements
during the previous year and rededicating ourselves towards our - oriented tasks
related to the development of Academic quality and quantity”. 9th June, 2018 is the 100th Birthday of
Shikshanmaharshi Dr. Bapuji Salunkhe ; the founder of our sanstha. (The birth
centenary year starts from 9th June 2018). On this special occasion; Sanstha is
organizing numerous activities to cultivate and promote the value based
educational ideas of Bapuji.
Our institute, which has carved a name and place for itself in the
Maharashtra State, is a result of a dream envisioned by our dear Bapuji. While
dreaming of changing the society through dissemination of education, Bapuji has
given a major contribution in shaping of Maharashtra state. The society
cherishes his contribution. Our institute is continuously carrying forward
Bapuji’s idealism and his philosophy through its 385 Sanskar Kendras and along
with almost 9000 Gurudev Karyakartas.
9th of June is not only the birth date of Bapuji, but it’s a day for
Maharashtra to express the feeling of love, respect and a sense of gratitude we
all feel towards him. We almost , we are fortunate to witness and participate
in these very special birth centenary celebrations. Maharashtra is taking shape
due to the sacrifices made by Bapuji while establishing this sanstha. Our
society today in the real sense needs the thoughts and values of Bapuji, and
therefore we all, the Gurudev karyakartas (Teachers) are the real ideological
heirs of Bapuji. We all, in a way, propagate his thoughts through our various
schools and colleges on a regular basis. But on this special occasion of the
birth centenary, it is a golden opportunity for us to take his thoughts to the
wider society. Due to Bapuji’s tireless
efforts and endeavors, many families flourished. So, all the members of sanstha
have this opportunity to commemorate their gratitude.
To celebrate this event, committees have been
formed which include honorable members coming from all walks of life. The
committees have planned for various events and activities which are
student-centric, research - scientific development oriented and have a social
angle. Apart from the development of each branch of the sanstha, these
programmes are planned in such a manner that it will enhance the glory of the
institution . They also include many social and cultural activities. Some
programs are only meant for the birth centenary year and some programs are to
be continued for over a long-term period.
All these planned programs require financial resources. For this
purpose, we are making an earnest and honest appeal to all those individuals
having love and faith in Bapuji’s work. In order to make this event magnificent
and meaningful, we all, as the humble workers of the sanstha are making their
contribution by contributing 12 days’ salary of individual. This Birth
Centenary is like a festival for us; which we are going to celebrate the whole
year for the spread & inculcation of Bapuji’s educational thoughts.
